DIY Easter Egg Oreo Pops

I wanted to make an easy festive treat for Easter and share it on my blog. Oreo balls are the absolute best and I had the idea to make them into cute Easter eggs shapes. Follow along with this photo tutorial to make these super adorable Easter treats. No baking necessary!

  • I package of Oreos

2. Crush Oreos

You’ll need to crush the Oreos until there are no large chunks. The easiest way to do this is in the blender but you can also put them in a large Ziploc bag and relieve some anger by crushing them by hand. It’s up to you!

3.  Combine

Combine your Oreos with the cream cheese. Make sure your cream cheese is softened. If not, you can always soften it up in the microwave for a few seconds. For this step you can use a blender, mixer, or my personal favorite, use your hands.

4. Shape

Now it’s time to make the eggs! Form your dough into the shape of eggs. You can make them as big as you want but remember when you dip them in the candy melts, it will add another layer and make them even bigger.

5. Firm

If your dough is soft, you can place the eggs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and put them in the fridge to firm up a bit before the sticks go in. This will be better for holding the sticks in place.

6. Add the Sticks

Melt a small amount of candy melts in the microwave for 30 second intervals making sure to stir after every 30 seconds. This will keep the candy melts from burning. Once that’s melted, dip the end of the stick into the candy melts and push them gently into the Oreo eggs. Line them up on some parchment paper and set in the fridge to firm up for about 20 minutes.

7. Dipping Time

Melt a larger amount of candy melts this time for dipping your eggs. Once again, you can use the microwave to do this. Once the candy melts are melted, transfer them to a deep, narrow glass. This will make it easier to dip the eggs and will require less twisting and turning. If not, you can use the bowl you melted the candy in. Dip the eggs, twist to make sure it’s completely covered, tap off the excess candy, and let set. You can place the pops into a piece of Styrofoam to set. You can find Styrofoam at the dollar store.

8. Decorate

Now for the fun part, it’s time to decorate! Once the candy melt coating on the eggs is fully hardened, you can start decorating. You can use any leftover candy melts and either use a piping bag or Ziploc bag with the corner snipped off. Decorate however you’d like and have fun!

9. Diplay

Cut the Styrofoam down to fit the decorative bucket. Place your pops in and cover the Styrofoam with colored paper. Enjoy your beautiful display!

You’re Finished!
