As of 2015, all millennials are officially of drinking age and we’re actually drinking more wine that baby boomers. In fact, we drank about 42% of all wine in 2015 and the numbers are growing. We are classy AF! What better way to celebrate our sophisticated selves than by spending the day sipping on Kentucky’s finest wines from over 66 local wineries? 4. Festival Unveiled
If you’ve lived in Louisville you might have heard of Thunder or BalloonFest but this is the event you’ve never heard of and have been missing out on you your whole life. Mixologists from 8 different local restaurants and bars create their own version of the Mint Julep. Guests can taste all the drinks and pick the winner of the 14th annual Four Roses Bourbon Rose Julep Contest. Of course, with all these tasty drinks there’s tasty food to go along with it like Chef Carved Bourbon Barrel Wood Smoke BBQ Pork Loin, Asian Kentucky Fusion Bourbon Chicken, and so much more including dessert.

You can probably tell from all these events that millennials enjoy a good drink but for those of us who prefer an ice cold beer over a glass of wine, this event will be more your scene. Over 40 breweries will be sampling their beers at the 2017 BeerFest. Some of these breweries include Blue Moon Brewing, Angry Orchard, Samuel Adams, and plenty more different types of beers to satisfy your thirst. Plus, you get to take home a souvenir tasting glass and a BeerFest pin.

2. Thunder Over Louisville
If you’ve grown up in Louisville, chances are you’ve been to Thunder Over Louisville or at least watched it on TV. Thunder is the biggest fireworks show in North America and people come from all over the country to see this spectacular show. It’s the perfect excuse to grab some friends, set up some blankets picnic style, eat some good food, grab some drinks, and hang out all night. When the sky turns dark, get ready to see an amazing fireworks display sure to impress you.

1. Fest-a-Ville/Waterfront Jam
This is the event that keeps on going. It lasts nine days and there’s always something new to see, taste, and experience. With food, music, drinks, and funnel cakes what more could you need? This event includes the Waterfront Jam Concert Series which has 7 different concerts featuring 7 different genres including Top 100, Country, EDM, Gospel, Rock, and Urban.
